Five Cool Journalism Meetups in NYC
From Spanish language lessons to Corgi gatherings to Hamilton sing alongs, Meetup offers something for everyone. In addition to the multilingual Broadway-bound pet owners organizing meetups, there are hundreds of journalists and digital media professionals looking to connect with their peers and grow professionally.
In New York City, there are all kinds of options for journalism meetups. Here are five that you might find promising:
1. ONA NYC

3. Society of Environmental Journalists NYC
The Society of Environmental Journalists is “dedicated to furthering credible, robust journalism that informs and engages society on environmental issues.” The group aims to create and foster professional ties between environmental journalists and editors, whether or not you’re a member of the SEJ. The most recent event was a discussion on Federal Environmental Deregulation led by a law professor and director of the Institute for Policy Integrity at NYU.
4. Hacks/Hackers New York City
Hack/Hackers New York City brings together journalists and hackers who are innovating the way stories are told in digital media.
